Mr. Van Note launched the Van Note
Group, a business consultancy, in 2002 to provide strategic
advice to startup financial services and technology firms and
their sponsors. Some of its clients include a merchant bank
in San Francisco, a newly formed mortgage origination firm in
the Midwest and a reorganizing technology services firm in
Brussels, Belgium.
Mr. Van Note was General Manager and
Director of Strategic Planning from 1996 to 2001 for Plural,
Inc. (a Wall Street based software consulting firm and
incubator). Mr. Van Note rapidly built a services and
incubation practice from zero to 50 technology, creative and
strategic professionals in the Midwest, and helped grow the
overall firm from to 600 professionals and $100 million in
revenues.
Mr. Van Note was Director of Financial
Services for Vicor, Inc. (a Bay Area advanced technology and
strategic consulting firm) from 1990 to 1995. Mr. Van Note
was instrumental in growing the firm from startup to over 250
professionals, successfully acquiring and integrating 2 firms
and spinning out a subsidiary into a now public company.
Mr. Van Note worked for Citibank and
Ziegler, S.A. from 1985 to 1989 leading financial services and
technology initiatives.
Mr. Van Note graduated from Stanford
University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in International
Relations. Mr. Van Note is a 1985 graduate of L’Ecole des
Hautes Etudes Commerciales, a masters level graduate business
program, in Paris, France.
